Stop U.S. Support of Israeli War on the Palestinians
This is an urgent appeal to contact your members of Congress and President Bush asking them to press Israel to end Israel's unilateral, blitzkrieg war with U.S. weapons against Palestinian communities. Israel's attacks have intensified and has lit the fuse to a huge powder keg. It can explode into global war unless effective action is taken NOW to stop Israel, and hold it accountable. Please help. If we fail to speak, we are complicit in the violence inflicted with U.S. tax dollars.

I am deeply concerned that Israel continues to bomb Palestinian cities with U.S. weapons. Israel's unilateral war on Palestinian communities is threatening world security. It is reprehensible that Israel will not allow wounded to be brought to hospitals. It has banned the presence of international press. It has cut off all food and water supplies to large urban populations. It has laid siege to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem in violation of the requests of ecumenical church leaders and institutions that govern this holy site. What is the (Senator.../ Rep.....) doing to end this Israel's reign of terror and violence against Palestine?

I write to ask you to take immediate and strong action to halt Israel's unilateral war on Palestinian communities. It has continued for over a week without effective action by the United States to stop it. Israel's aggressive military attacks on Palestinian people, communities, civil institutions, and infrastructure is threatening U.S. national security as well as security in the Middle East. Israel's violence has only intensified! Ambulances cannot pick up wounded and dead. Hospitals are cut off. The International Red Cross has renewed its condemnation of Israel. Israel is BANNING the presence of international press. Israel is threatening an attack on the Church of the Nativity in violation of requests by the ecumenical church leaders and institutions that govern this holy site. Israel has cut off food and water to large areas of Palestinian urban populations. Israel is bombing ancient, town centers filled with people. Palestinian civilian casualties are mounting. Hundreds of Palestinians have been taken from their homes and prisoners, though no one knows where they are.
Israel's unilateral war is guaranteed to create a new generation of suicide bombers - or worse - from across the Middle East as Palestinian and other Arab people feel they are being subjected to overwhelming, brutal and relentless force . They have few possibilities for human or military resistance. This one-way war is generating new levels of desperation, mistrust and hate in the Arab world. To see the superpower United States stand behind Israel in this campaign, only belatedly saying it is time to stop - and then have this request be ignored with no consequences – only breeds more mistrust and hate against the U.S. as being fully complicit in Israel's vicious attacks. It is time to cut military aid to Israel. Israel receives more military aid than any nation on earth. Israel has misused it grievously.
The U.S. aid must stop subsidizing Israeli persecution of the people whose land Israel has taken, occupies, and now who Israel brutally attacks. I urge you to take an immediate, active role in ending this violence and stand fully behind an immediate new peace process to bring a permanent peace between a fully secure and recognized Palestine and Israel.
